Characteristics

  • Usually occurs singly or in small schools.
  • Feeds on fishes and benthic invertebrates.

Description

Adult:
  • Body dorsally grey brown to olive, with pinkish undertones. Ventrally white.
  • Dorsal and caudal fins pink-brown or dark.
  • Pectoral, pelvic and anal fins whitish with hints of pink-brown.
Juvenile:
  • Body colour similar to in adults, but with a broad white-bordered black stripe crossing from eye to caudal peduncle.
