Whitespotted bambooshark


  • Usually occurs singly.

  • A study from Taiwan suggested that females and males mature at around 4.5 and 4.4 years respectively.
  • A local study showed that females and males mature around 5.5 years and 5.1 years respectively.
  • In Hong Kong, females are reproductively active from March to April, but males are reproductively active from December to January, which suggests females store sperm for later fertilization.
