Characteristics

  • A shy species and usually swims away from divers.
  • Feeds on algae. In Japan, this species has been reported to maintain a 6 m2 multi-species algal farm for feeding.

Description

  • Adults:
    • Body brown to black.
    • May have a visible black spot on anterior part of dorsal fin.
  • Juveniles:
    • Body yellow.
    • A black spot with blue margin on anterior part of dorsal fin.
