Threespot dascyllus


  • Feeds on plankton.
  • Associated with several species of host anemone, such as the bubble tip anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor), which is common in Hong Kong eastern waters.


  • Body charcoal. Each scale has a black margin.
  • In juveniles, there are three white spots: two on each side of the body, and one on the forehead.
  • The white spot on the forehead fades with maturity and is no longer present in adults.
