Three-lined rainbowfish

Characteristics

  • Usually occurs singly, but also appears in pairs.

Description

Terminal phase:

  • Body yellowish green.
  • An Orange- yellow patch around pectoral fin base.
  • 4 horizontal blue lines on body., 3 stripes lines extend from head to tail, 1 extends from head to mid body.
  • Dorsal fin red.

Initial phase:

  • Upper body dark grey with numerous small and densely spaced white dots.
  • Lower body pale grey to whitish.
  • A white horizontal band below eye, extends from mouth to pectoral fin base.
  • A pinkish orange horizontal stripe with horizontal rows of black dots extends from near pectoral fin base to lower caudal fin base.
