Striped monocle bream


  • Usually occurs singly. Elsewhere, known to form groups.
  • Sometimes exhibits the Swim-Stop-Swim behaviour
  • Feeds on small fishes and invertebrates.


  • Dorsally black to dark grey with 2 to 3 horizontal white stripes and several irregular vertical white bars.
  • Ventrally white.
