Spectacled goby

Characteristics

Often observed singly, resting on sandy bottoms or boulders. Can be easily approached. Not much is known about the species’ biology.

Description

  • Body appears translucent with pearly-white colouration.
  • Reddish-brown spots all over body, top of head and on tail.
  • A prominent dark brown to blackish stripe begins above pectoral fin bases which extends through the eyes and joins between eyes eventually, resembling spectacles.
