Slender wrasse


  • Often recorded singly.

  • Feeds on small invertebrates.


  • Terminal phase

    • Body colours and pattern similar to initial phase.

    • Blue bands on dorsal and anal fins.

    • An orange V-shape on caudal fin.

  • Initial phase:

    • Body white.

    • A red to brown stripe runs from snout through eye to the end of caudal peduncle.

    • A small spot, which may be dark or bluish, on the stripe and behind pectoral fin.

    • A black spot at upper caudal peduncle on the stripe.
