Flathead grey mullet
Often recorded in schools.
In the pacific coast of Mexico, this species can live to at least 12 years old.
Feeds on zooplanktons, detritus and benthic organisms.
- Body grey to olive-green dorsally. Silver on sides and white ventrally.
- Body has 6 to 7 horizontal stripes.
- Diffused bluish black spot on pectoral fin base.
- Transparent eyelid (adipose eyelid).
