Usually occurs singly in Hong Kong, but occurs in schools and may mix with other fusiliers elsewhere.
Feeds on zooplanktons.
Description
Body silvery blue.
Several horizontal rows of dark scales on back and a thicker dark stripe below.
A thick blue band from gill cover to caudal peduncle. When associated with reefs, lower part of body may change to red, and the thick blue band ends at mid body.
Upper and lower lobes with white margins and dark streak.
