Chinese wrasse


Terminal phase (male and female): Body colour variable, but generally pale green with horizontal pink stripes, and may be white ventrally. Males possess a black green blotch at the anterior part of dorsal fin and blue corners on tail. - Initial phase (juvenile): o Black spot on upper caudal peduncle.


  • Often recorded in exposed reefs.
  • Feeds on amphipods, crustaceans, mollusks and polychaetes.
