Bryaninops whip-goby species

Characteristics

Lives on gorgonians. Sometimes observed on ropes and on submerged dead twigs and branches of trees.
Often recorded singly, in pairs or in small groups.
Shy and often evades approaching divers.

Description

Body small and translucent.
Lower side of the body may be red.
May have several vertical red bars on body.
Eyes with red rim.
Not to be confused with another genus of gobies, Eviota, which are also relatively small in size but differ in appearance and habitats.
